Happy #GivingTuesday!
The Feminist Institute’s work is made possible through the generosity of our donors! Today we are launching our Adopt a Box campaign to help us continue our work as a feminist archive and to fuel our digitization efforts. Alongside this campaign, we are also launching our raffle to give our community a chance to win items from prominent culture makers!
If you donate to Adopt a Box on #GivingTuesday, you’ll receive a free entry to our raffle!
Adopt a Box
Be an Information Activist
Donate to The Feminist Institute Digital Archive’s Adopt a Box campaign to help us infill the cultural record from a feminist perspective.
Within all sorts of boxes, there are feminist histories waiting to be shared. By adopting a box, you are enabling The Feminist Institute to prioritize the preservation of feminist archives and the cultural histories they represent. With increased censorship coming from right-wing politicians and tech giants, these efforts are of the utmost importance.

Our Impact
The Feminist Institute is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to preserving feminist contributions to culture. By building a support network, we strive to continuously uphold online search equity by preserving and digitizing materials in our digital archive.
The Feminist Institute works with our partners to radicalize access to feminist archives in multiple ways. Some initiatives we’ve worked on this year include:
Partnering with The New York Public Library (NYPL) to digitize feminist holdings for inclusion in the TFI Digital Archive and NYPL Digital Collections.
Working with feminist trading card company, supersisters, on rehoming 15 boxes of materials in archival housing and digitizing over 500 items for the TFI Digital Archive, including correspondence with Gloria Steinem, Shirley Chisholm, and Maya Angelou.
Collaborating with A.I.R. Gallery on the digital exhibition series, A.I.R.: The First 25 Years, celebrating the gallery’s history through archival storytelling.
Sponsoring research grants for Hunter College M.A. in Art History students to explore feminist histories and contributing their findings to TFI’s digital exhibitions.
Helping notable organizations, such as Global Fund for Women, archive websites and other digital-only documentation.
GXRLCRUSH: A Benefit Raffle
In efforts to celebrate feminist contributions to culture, we are hosting GXRLCRUSH: A Benefit Raffle that features items from prominent artists, musicians, athletes, and culture makers to support the important work TFI is doing while giving our community a chance to win feminist histories!
By donating to Adopt a Box today on #GivingTuesday you will receive an automatic free entry into our raffle, which features items like a Joan Jett guitar, a Marilyn Minter print, and more!
