This ephemera is from the original supersisters trading card set which aimed to empower women and girls by highlighting accomplished women in a wide variety of fields. The cards were created by sisters  Lois Rich and Barbara Egerman after Lois’ 8-year old daughter, Melissa, asked why there weren’t any women on baseball trading cards. This card features Shirley M. Hufstedler, an accomplished politician and judge who served as the head of the Department of Education under the Carter Administration. Before her work with the Carter Administration, she was the highest-ranking woman judge in the United States.
